DAY 1: ARRIVAL – CUSCO CITY TOUR

Today marks the beginning of your extraordinary adventure in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, with the Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Tour 7 days.

Upon your morning arrival at Cusco airport, a friendly representative from Rainbow Mountain Tours will greet you and escort you to your hotel in Cusco City. During the transfer, they will provide you with a brief introduction to Peru and Cusco City. After checking in at your hotel, you’ll have some time to relax and enjoy a light lunch before embarking on a City tour of Cusco.

Rainbow Mountain Tour 6 days offers the perfect opportunity to explore incredible destinations before experiencing one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. On that way, at approximately 1:30 pm, your city tour commences, allowing you to marvel at the breathtaking constructions crafted by the Inca civilization. Accompanied by our knowledgeable tour leader, you’ll visit Sacsayhuaman, followed by Koricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. Next on the itinerary is Q’enqo, the Temple of Water Tambomachay, and concluding with Puca Pucara.

The tour concludes around 6:30 pm, and transportation will be provided to return you to your hotel.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – AGUAS CALIENTES TOWN

Explore the breathtaking Sacred Valley as part of your unforgettable Rainbow Mountain 6 days, starting today.

Continuing this exhilarating journey, you’ll check out of your hotel in Cusco and store your larger luggage (carry only essential items). In the morning, your tour leader will pick you up from the hotel to begin the Sacred Valley tour. After a 30-minute drive, your first stop will be at Awanacancha, an intriguing place where you can observe Andean camelids such as alpacas, llamas, vicuñas, and huanacos. Ten minutes further along, you’ll pause to take in a magnificent view of the entire Sacred Valley.

Next, you’ll reach the first Inca archaeological site, Pisac, where your tour leader will guide you through its most significant sectors. Following this exploration, the journey continues through the Sacred Valley, passing by the town of Urubamba, where you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch featuring delicious quinoa and corn grown locally.

In the afternoon, you’ll continue your journey along the Sacred Valley, following the Urubamba River until you reach the next archaeological site in the town of Ollantaytambo. After exploring this remarkable Inca site in the afternoon, you’ll board the train, a pivotal part of the Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Tour 6 days. Remember to carry your passport for this journey, during which you’ll marvel at Inca constructions and catch glimpses of the beginning of the classic Inca Trail.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, a representative from Rainbow Mountain Tours will be waiting to escort you to your hotel. We recommend packing only what you need for one night and leaving your larger luggage at your Cusco hotel.

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU TOUR

Today marks the start of your Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Tour 6 days, beginning with an early morning pick-up from your hotel after breakfast. You’ll travel with your tour leader on the CONSETUR transport to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, which takes approximately 30 minutes. It’s essential to carry your passport for entry control; visitors without it may be denied access unless they have booked Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain in advance.

Continuing with our Rainbow Mountain Tour 6 Days, your tour leader will commence the guided tour once you’re ready. They will guide you through the most significant Inca sites, including the Agricultural Sector, the Quarry, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Intihuatana. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore more of Machu Picchu on your own before departing the site.

Before your tour leader leaves you at Machu Picchu, they will provide recommendations on catching the bus and train. In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to have lunch in Aguas Calientes and ensure you arrive at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure, as indicated on your train ticket. You’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo town, where our representative will meet you and escort you back to Cusco City.

Things to Note: During peak season, the queue for buses from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu can be extensive, so plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Since January 1, 2019, the Peruvian government has implemented regulations to manage visitor numbers at Machu Picchu; re-entry is only allowed with a ticket including Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Train schedules are subject to availability based on your reservation. If you wish to hike Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain, it’s necessary to book in advance and pay an additional fee of USD 65; there are limited daily slots available for these hikes.

DAY 4:  MARAS MORAY TOUR

At approximately 8:00 AM, your Maras and Moray Cusco tour begins, one of the exciting day trips from Cusco. You’ll start with a captivating weaving demonstration in Chinchero town, where local artisans showcase traditional techniques and vibrant patterns. Next, explore the intriguing circular terraces of Moray, believed to have been an agricultural laboratory for the Incas. Here, you can marvel at the innovative engineering and stunning views across the terraces.

Following Moray, the tour continues to the ancient salt mines of Maras, where thousands of salt pans cascade down the mountainside, creating a picturesque scene that has been in use since pre-Incan times. Learn about the traditional salt-extraction methods that are still practiced by local families today.

DAY 5:  RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR

This outstanding Cusco day trip will start early in the morning. With your pick you up from the hotel at 04 am. approx. Subsequently, the transport will drive for about 02 hours to  Cusipata town where you have included breakfast. Afterward, you continue this Amazing Cusco day trip driving 45 minutes more toward the beginning of the Hike. It is important to carry warm clothes because the temperature is cold.

The beginning of the hike is located at 15420 ft ASL approx. Once you feel ready, you start hiking toward Vinincunca Rainbow Mountain. The hike will be 2 hours more or less, however, it will be gently uphill at the beginning, and the last 30 minutes will steep up to reach the highest point and the Classic view of the Rainbow Mountain 16732.28 ft ASL. Once you reach the summit you will delight in the marvelous view of Vinincunca Rainbow Mountain, the view from the Red Valley, and the imposing Apu Ausangate which is the highest glacier in the Cusco region.

The way to get transport will be now easy, then the transport will take you to Cusipata town where there is the Lunch, It is important that you have to know that the meals here will be traditional food, and the Locals adapted their houses as restaurants. Therefore, food can be basic for you, but most importantly, clean. Finally, you will finish the tour around 05 pm approx.

DAY 6: CUSCO – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

According to your flight departure time, we will pick you up from your hotel approximately 2-3 hours before to ensure a timely arrival at the airport and avoid any delays. Once we arrive at the airport, our services will conclude.
